We are happy to share that Dr. Nanthaporn Seributra, executive director of Starfish Education Foundation, participated in the Thailand Education Partnership (TEP) Forum in Bangkok from June 8-9, 2019!
This year the TEP Forum was designed around the theme of The New Image of Thai Education: Improve Thai Education With the Power of All People. According to a media release from the National News Bureau of Thailand (NNT),
“At this forum, twelve organizations managed by a young generation of Thais exchanged ideas on adapting Thai education to global changes. The forum organized meeting groups, covering the topics of learning through gaming activities, education appraisal, and classes for change makers.”
Dr. Seributra presented on SEF’s core vision - Preparing Thai Children Today For Tomorrow. This concept of using the Starfish Maker and Starfish Labz programs to prepare children for a successful life and career in Thai society is a key part of SEF’s mission in Thailand, and was a fantastic fit for the theme and direction of the TEP Forum.
In addition to the forum segment and the meeting groups, a workshop on Makerspace and Design Thinking was led by Mr. Thiti Theerathean, Education Trainer for Starfish. Finally, our partners in Thailand (Starfish Country Home School Foundation and Starfish Innovation) assisted in the running of a general exhibition on Starfish Maker and Starfish Labz, and also worked to promote our programs to visitors, which included students, parents, entrepreneurs and members of the Thai education community.

We were pleased to have had the opportunity to participate and not only share what SEF is working on, but hear the voices of other organizations, educators and families who have a sincere interest in improving the Thai education system.
